Joan Sellers, 87, went to be with The Lord on August 18, 2026, in Oneonta, AL, surrounded by her loving family.Born in Cordova AL, she lived with her parents in Dovertown AL until she married her Cordova High School sweetheart Terry in 1960, and lived with him in Auburn AL, Arkansas, North Carolina, Tuscaloosa AL, Starkville MS, and after retirement in Oneonta, AL. Joan and Terry were married 56 years, until his death in 2016.Joan loved more than anything else her family, including a large extended family – and friends, who were soon considered part of her extended family. She enjoyed holding babies, listening to Elvis songs, fishing, gardening, watching football, cooking and hosting gatherings of family and friends in her home. One of her many talents was her creativity, that she expressed, among other ways, in her interior decorating. She enjoyed decorating for and celebrating all holidays, particularly Christmas.…

He was a loyal brother, son, and uncle to his family. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Leon and Beulah Heaton; uncle Lawrence Heaton; cousins Jackie Clark and Kali Heaton.He is survived by his mother Faye Heaton Chancey; stepdad William Chancey; brothers Kenneth Roberts (Anna Prince), Cody Roberts, and Joshua Rogers; sister Sonja Rogers; aunts and uncles Katherine Heaton, Tommy Heaton, and Rhonda Heaton; cousins Daniel Roberts, T.J. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Wilson; parents Herbert and Mary Arnold; daughter Regina Mires; sister Rita McCurry; brother Gerald Arnold.She is survived by her daughters Debbie Perry (Greg), Andrea Ellis (Jerry), and Kristie Gray (Darryl); 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sisters Penny Tidwell (David) and Wanda Owens.The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Lemley Funeral Home from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. She was a precious and devoted wife, a wonderful mother, a loving grandmommy, and great-grandmommy. Her family was her greatest joy, and she loved them with all her heart. Linda was a proud member of the Tarrant High School Class of 1963. She was an extremely outgoing person who never met a stranger. Her warm smile, generous heart, and genuine love for others made everyone around her feel welcome. Giving was truly her gift, and she was always willing to help others in any way she could.
