She was preceded in death by her husband Ted Summers Garrick her son William Russell Garrick and her four brothers Robert Haywood Wayne and Lane Murphy. She is survived by her children Randy Jerome and Suzanne six grandchildren Joey Anna Ashley Brooke Christa and Summers and five greatgrandchildren Coe Luke Oliver Ivy and Jakob. Hazel graduated from Coffeeville High School in 1952 and later earned her Masters Degree in Education from the University of South Alabama. She dedicated many years to teaching first grade at Grove Hill Elementary and Nolanville Elementary in Killeen Texas. She was active in numerous clubs and organizations including the Retired Teachers Association gardening club quilting group choir readers group writers group and of course the ladies group at the Courthouse Square Deli Bakery.
