Martha Marable Hanson, wife of Stan, love of his life and anchor for the past 60 years, passed away at The Windsor of Ocala on August 14, 2026. She was fighting a five-year battle to overcome several serious health conditions. She died peacefully and comfortably at The Windsor with hospice critical care provided.Martha was born Martha Nell Marable on December 10, 1943, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She graduated from the University of Alabama in 1965 with a degree in business administration and major in accounting. Following graduation, she attended the University of Alabama School of Law where she was one of the “glass ceiling breakers.”She and Stan met at the University and were married in 1966. During their college time, Martha worked as a librarian at the University’s Main Library and as a supervisor at the Alabama Press Association.
