Walter S. "Corky" Carter III born on May 4 1947 in Memphis Tennessee passed away on March 28 2026 in Dadeville Alabama. He was 78 years old. Corky grew up in Olive Branch Mississippi. While attending college he married Juliana Bell from Mobile Alabama and they have been married 57 years. He graduated from Mississippi State with a degree in math education and as a member of Phi Kappa Alpha social fraternity. He received his Masters and PhD in educational administration from University of Mississippi. He went on to work as an administrator at Northwest Mississippi Community College followed by Baddour Incorporated. After several years in Senatobia Mississippi he moved onto Dollar General executive headquarters in Nashville TN. After 5 years in Nashville he landed in Auburn AL where he went on to join his son Collin in the formation of Carter Carter Construction. He and Julie then retired on…
