A lifelong Alaskan, he attended Nikiski High School and built a life centered around his family, his art, and the things that gave him a sense of freedom.Darren was a talented artist whose interests included tattooing, painting, and drawing. He owned Top Notch Tattoo, where he was able to turn his creativity and passion for art into work that would remain with people for years to come. Michael Parker Lockwood, 91, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, Aug. 16, 2026, at his home in Kenai, AK.Mike was born Aug. 11, 1935, in Bellingham, WA. He received a Bachelor’s degree in economics from Western Washington College and later earned a Master’s degree in science from the University of Fairbanks.Mike and his wife, Susan, came to Alaska in September 1962. It was a wonderful adventure for the two of them. They taught school in many Bush villages, including Koyukuk, Anaktuvuk Pass and Anderson Village, as well as in Fairbanks and Port Graham. After 11 years of teaching, Mike retired from teaching in 1974.Following his teaching career, Mike decided to buy a boat and fish for crab and shrimp. Mike and Susan commercially setnet fished for more than 50 years.Mike loved Alaska and the outdoors. He especially enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he passed…
