Eugene was born on November 19 1952 and was a lifelong resident of Crossett. He was a faithful member of Pine Grove Baptist Church where his love for the Lord was evident in the way he lived his life each day. Eugene worked for many years at Jefferson Smurfit where he built a reputation as a dependable and hardworking man. He took pride in honest work and the ability to provide for those he loved. Outside of work Eugene enjoyed the simple things in lifecasting a line in the early mornings spending time in the woods deer hunting and working in his vegetable garden. He took pride in what he grew and was always glad to share it with others. Francis Maxine Murphy 93 of Pflugerville Texas formerly of Crossett Arkansas passed away peacefully on Tuesday March 31 2026. Maxine spent most of her life in Crossett and attended Mississippi Womens College where she majored in music laying the foundation for a life filled with melody and service. She was a faithful and devoted member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church where she used her Godgiven talent to serve others by playing the organ a role she cherished deeply. Music was her lifelong passion and she took great joy in practicing and perfecting her skills. Throughout her life Maxine wore many hats. She worked as a medical transcriptionist served as an insurance clerk for the Harold Jarvis Agency and at one time owned her own womens clothing store. Later in life after moving to Palatka Florida she returned to school and became a licensed practical nurse continuing her lifes work of…
