Edwards and Essie Kech Edwards. Dorothy shared more than 60 wonderful years of marriage with the love of her life Jessie C. Garrison II. Together they built a life centered around hard work faith and family. Throughout her life Dorothy held a variety of careers including working at the Wertz Cracker Factory. She was known for her resourcefulness and determination even operating her own business repairing washing machines for members of the community. Later in life at the age of 56 Dorothy pursued her nursing degree at Westark College reflecting her deep compassion and dedication to caring for others. H.B. Buddy Frye age 87 of Barling Arkansas passed away on May 11 2026. Buddy was born on December 22 1937 in Mena Arkansas to Herbert Bollinger Frye Sr. and Helen King Frye. Buddy was raised in Mena where his family owned and operated the Mena Feed Egg Store until the early 1970s. After relocating to Fort Smith he worked at Coburn Optical. Buddy proudly served his country in the United States Army Reserve. During his service he was activated in 1957 during the Little Rock desegregation under Governor Orval Faubus. He loved hunting fishing and gardening and was very skilled in making hunting knives. He was known as an excellent gardener and a talented cook who enjoyed sharing the fruits of his labor with others. He was a member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church. Bruce honorably served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War earning three Bronze Stars for his service and dedication. Following his military service he worked throughout his life in a variety of professions including with Harding Glass Vicks Mens Store Baldor and the Arkansas Highway Department.
