On April 5 2026 Lian Coman Emmerling was playing the last movement of the Happy Trails to You Symphony. When the conductor put the baton down Lian took a bow cased her violin and went home. Lian was born in Ann Arbor Michigan in 1960 and passed away on Easter April 5 2026. She spent early years in Park Forest and Crete Illinois and graduated from CreteMonee High School in 1978. She earned a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from the University of Illinois in 1982. Lian moved to Colorado and earned a Masters of Music in Performance from the University of Denver in 1984. She performed in a string quartet in Great Falls Montana and traveled around the state giving concerts. She played with the Colorado Springs Philharmonic Denver Chamber…

Richard Lee McAuley was born on December 15th 1945 in Denver Colorado. He was adopted at a few days old by W. D. "Don" and Gladys O. McAuley who were living 16 miles south of Vona where Dons dad had homestead in 1910. The family lived there until 1949 when Don and Gladys sold out and bought a place south of Halltown Missouri to be near his two sisters. They moved back to Colorado because Dick and Gladys were always sick in Missouri so they moved to Flagler so Gladys could take care of her sick mother. Don sold the farm and then moved back to be with the family. So Dick went to the first grade in Flagler at the age of 5. Because his father worked as a driller operator for Gulf Oil the family moved frequently living across the Central and Western United States as well as spending a few memorable years in Denmark. A testament to his adaptability Dee attended 13 different schools between grades 1 and 12 before graduating from high school in Choteau Montana. He went on to attend the University of Colorado earning his degree from the College of Business. E. Marie Rie Palmer was born on January 26 1937 in Hugo Colorado to Ralph and Sarah Taylor of Karval. She attended Karval and Hugo schools growing up. Marie passed away on August 16 2026 with Don John and Jo by her side at the age of 89 in Hugo Colorado. Marie was very active with all 4H activities. She was part of the livestock judging team that won the State contest in 1952 and went on to the National contest in Chicago. She was the first Lincoln County Fair Queen in 1953 and the Colorado State Fair Queen in 1954. Since 1954 Bob and Marie had been very active in both the Lincoln County Cattlewomen and Lincoln County Stockmen. They were a big part of starting the banquet and the annual barbeque. She was awarded a Lifetime Membership in both associations and also won the Master Farm Homemaker award.…

She moved to the southeast Colorado area when she was seven with her mother and her younger sister Candi age 6. Her mother married Roger Matthew in 1981 and he adopted both her and her sister that same year. She attended Alta Vista School and JuniorSenior High School in Lamar Colorado. She lived in the Herford and Canyon Texas area for a while where she had her two daughters Nicole Marie and Mikka Jade. She was very outgoing and made friends easily.
