Austin Owen Furst Jr. passed away peacefully on March 25 2026 at his home in New Canaan Connecticut surrounded by his family following complications of heart failure. He will be remembered for his curiosity and creativity his entrepreneurial spirit and the joy he brought to those around him. Austin was born on August 31 1943 in Harrisburg Pennsylvania to Margaret Watkins Furst and Austin Owen Furst. He grew up in Bellefonte Pennsylvania attended The Hill School in Pottstown Class of 1962 and studied business at Lehigh University in Bethlehem Class of 1966. Austin was a devoted husband to Leslie Fitler Furst for 60 years. Together they built a full and joyful life raising three daughters loving many dogs creating homes in New Canaan and on Squam Lake in New Hampshire hosting fabulous parties and big family gatherings traveling far and wide and savoring quiet coffee and newspaper mornings at home.…

Maria C. Marques of New Milford CT passed away peacefully on March 29 2026. She was 90 years old. Born on April 10 1935 in Porto Portugal she was the daughter of the late Fernando Tavares DaSilva and Florinda da Concepcion Ribeiro DaSilva. Maria is lovingly survived by her children Maria Pereira and her husband Victor and Miguel Marques and his wife Lucia her grandchildren Kiara Lette Cole Matthew Marques Michael Marques Monica Santos Marques Fernando Miguel Marques Arturo Miguel Marques. She was predeceased by her son Fernando DaSilva Marques. A celebration of life gathering will be held on Wednesday April 1 2026 from 11am12pm at Danbury Memorial Funeral Home 117 South Street. A private cremation will follow.

Iris was born on February 10 1947 in Ponce Puerto Rico to the late Carlos Limardo and Carmen Aguilar. Iris earned her cosmetology license concurrent with her diploma from Mabel Dean High School in New York City. She worked at a Manhattan salon before putting her cosmetology license on hold to work in the offices of BristolMyersClairol. Iris returned to her passion for working on hair and moved to Puerto Rico in the late 1980s to teach hair color techniques across the island on behalf of Clairol. In 1990 she relocated to Albany New York and enjoyed a successful career as a hair color specialist at both Jean Paul Salon and Anias Hair Studio. When she wasnt working Iris greatly enjoyed cooking crafting gardening traveling and most especially loved spending time with her family.
