Zenaida Ningas 79 of Groton CT passed away peacefully in The Woodlands TX surrounded by her close family. Known affectionately as Zeny she was a devoted wife mother grandmother and a compassionate nurse who dedicated her life to the care of others. Born in Manila Philippines on October 11 1946 and the eldest of five children Zeny earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Santo Tomas in 1968. In pursuit of the American dream and to one day sponsor her family to join her in America she immigrated to the U.S. on January 7 1970 and embarked on her career as a Registered Nurse at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia PA. It was also in the Birthplace of America that she met her first husband U.S. Navy petty officer Sabino R. Alina. Her next RN position took her to Salve Regina University in Newport RI before…
