He moved to Deer Park at the age of 12, where he began building the life and values that would carry him through the years. On December 4, 1978, he married the love of his life, Susan Blenz (Morse). Together, they built a life full of love, laughter, and lasting memories in Blanchard, Idaho.Ken drove log trucks and worked for Forrest Enterprises until 1985. That same year, Ken and Sue took over the Blanchard Tavern, creating a place where friends and neighbors gathered to share good food, cold beer, and even better conversation. He was born July 11, 1936, in Sanger, California, to John and Rosella (Stevenson) Hardy, and was raised in Dunsmuir, where he graduated from Dunsmuir High School. He went on to attend Sacramento State University, earning a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice.Walt enlisted in the United States Army and served overseas as a Military Police officer from 1954 to 1957. Following his honorable discharge, he returned home and met Doris Nell Bible.
