Valerie was born in Nasik, India on January 12, 1942 to Rodney and Leta (Dawson) Nicholson. Her father was in the British Army Secret Service and the family traveled to many countries with his work. Valerie had two brothers, Peter and Jeremy. She was briefly taught in a one room school house in the forest of Penang, Malaya and later attended a boarding school in Bexhill-on-Sea in England. As a child, Valerie loved down-hill skiing, ice skating and acting in plays. She married her first husband, Vahe' Kizirian, and they were married for twenty- two years and had two children together. They lived in Lebanon. Valerie received a degree in Pediatric Nursing in London and much later in life she earned an RN degree in California. She also taught at a preschool for a time. Petty Ann Runge was born to Edna and Floyd Runge on July 31, 1941, in Omaha, Nebraska. She passed away on May 7, 2026, at the Schneidmiller Hospice House in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.Petty’s family relocated to Coeur d’Alene in 1946, where they established a furniture business. She enjoyed her childhood playing in the fields and woods in her neighborhood and spending time with friends. She participated in Bluebirds and Campfire Girls activities, enjoyed riding horses and experiencing the carefree childhood of the 1940s and 1950s. Petty attended Bryan School and graduated from Coeur d’Alene High School in 1959. She was in the Vikette’s drill team and a cheerleader her senior year. Following high school, she attended the University of Idaho and joined Gamma Phi Beta sorority. After college, she and a friend headed for the “big city” of Los Angeles, California, where she worked for the Chamber of Commerce. Her…
