It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Melvin James who passed away peacefully on June 30 2026 with his family by his side at the age of 74. Born on August 7 1951 in Antioch Illinois. Mel lived a life rooted in hard work family and the things he loved most. A proud truck driver for many years he found freedom and purpose on the open road. Trucking wasnt simply his professionit was his way of life. When he wasnt behind the wheel Mel enjoyed spending time farming building and collecting model trains and line dancing with family and friends. Whether he was carefully working on a model railroad tending the land or dancing to his favorite country songs he found joy in lifes simple pleasures and in sharing them with those around him. Mel will be remembered for his kind heart strong work ethic quick…
