Carol Elizabeth (Bruner) Allen, age 80, of Oblong, Illinois, passed away at 10:27 a.m. on Friday, October 9, 2026, at Haven of Ridgeview Nursing Home in Oblong, Illinois.Carol was born on June 24, 1946, in Willow Hill, Jasper County, Illinois, to Charles Doisy Bruner and Gilberta L. (Keown) Bruner. She grew up in the Willow Hill area, where she attended Willow Hill Grade School before graduating from Newton Community High School with the Class of 1964.Throughout her working years, Carol held several jobs in the Robinson and Oblong communities. She was employed at Robinson Electronics, Robinson Transformer, and Best Western Motel in Robinson, Illinois. She also worked at Allen’s Used Furniture Store and IQP Food Inc., known locally as Illini Quick Pack, in Oblong, Illinois.
