Sandra Lynn Moon 81 of Peoria and formerly of Mineral and Annawan died at 900 p.m. on June 30 2026 surrounded by family and a constant stream of her favorite music Elton John Barry Manilow Frank Sinatra Neil Diamond and Johnny Mathis at the OSF Richard Owens Hospice facility in Peoria. Sandra was born and raised on the south side of Chicago the daughter of Lawrence Larry and Shirley Potesak. After graduating from Morgan Park High School and Northern Illinois University she began her teaching career at Kewanee High School and married David Moon of rural Sheffield. They had three children Scott Susan and Laura. Sandra decided to be a stayathome parent and raise her children while her husband farmed. Elaine Margaret Marks 89 of Geneseo passed away at her home on Tuesday June 30 2026. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1100 a.m. on Friday July 3 2026 at St. Malachy Catholic Church Geneseo. Father Chris Haake will celebrate. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery at a later date. A visitation will be held at the church from 1000 a.m. 1100 a.m. prior to the service. Vandemore Funeral Home Geneseo Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be directed to Compassus Hospice www.compassuslivingfoundation.org and the American Cancer Society www.cancer.org. Elaine was born on January 12 1937 in Moline Illinois the beloved daughter of Louis and Germaine Scheirs DeWispeleare. She graduated from Blackhawk College with an associates degree and went on to live a life rich in faith family and simple joys. On January 8 1954 Elaine married William Bill Marks he survives.
