Robert F. "Bopper" Steinmeyer 83 of Worden IL passed away at 450 PM on Monday August 10 2026 at St. Johns Hospital in Springfield IL. He was born March 6 1943 in Litchfield IL the son of the late Albert Frances Miller Steinmeyer. Robert was baptized on March 28 1943 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Worden IL confirmed on March 25 1956 at Zion Lutheran Church in Carpenter IL. On March 7 1998 he married Cynthia Brunnworth Wolbert at Trinity Lutheran Church in Worden IL she survives. Robert spent his career working at Granite City Steel before joining the Illinois Department of Transportation retiring in 2001 as Lead Worker at the Hamel Maintenance Shed. She was born June 24 1933 in Gillespie IL the daughter of the late Wilbur Mabel Heldt Hughes. She married Frederick W. "Fred" Stein Sr. on October 18 1953 in Gillespie IL he passed away on November 17 2017. Betty was primarily a homemaker but she did work as a Secretary for the State of Illinois in Springfield before she Fred started a family. She was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals Fighting Illini basketball enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren great grandchildren.
