Sonya B. Benson age 55 of Barry IL passed away Sunday October 11 2026 at BarnesJewish Hospital in St. Louis Mo. She was born December 5 1970 in Jacksonville FL to Ron E. Yogi and Brenda K. Simmerman Martin. She married Rob Benson on October 18 2018 in Pittsfield IL and he survives. Sonya was a 1989 graduate of Pittsfield High School. She had a creative spirit and enjoyed expressing it through various arts and crafts especially making jewelry. Above all else Sonyas greatest joy in life was her grandchildren. They held a special place in her heart and the time she spent with them was among her most treasured blessings. Sonya is survived by her parents Ron Yogi and Brenda K.
