Doris J. FarneyEureka – Doris J. Farney, 95, of Haines City, FL, passed away peacefully on Monday October 12, 2026, in Eureka, IL.She was born on October 7, 1931, in Peoria, IL to Henry W. and Frieda Louise Koch Essig. She married Ira D. Farney on November 17, 1948, in Washington, IL. He passed away on June 16, 2001. Surviving are three daughters, Barbara (John) Gastman; Kathy (Ken) Hodel; Mary (John) Wiegand; two sons, Wayne (Michelle) Farney; Mark (Lisa) Farney; 20 grandchildren; 60 great grandchildren; and 10 great- great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Glenn Essig; and two sisters, LaVerne Patterson; and Dorothy Foster. Doris had a true servant heart and was always putting others first. She never knew a stranger and loved to visit with others. When you talked to Doris, she always asked how you were doing and not in a conversational…
