Richard Douglas Goodhart 62 passed away Tuesday Feb. 10 2026 at St. Vincent Heart Center Carmel IN. Rich served his country in the United States Marine Corp. reaching the rank of Staff Sergeant of an A4 ground crew. After retiring from the military he assumed the roles of business owner and machinist continuing his fathers business Reliable Drill Grinding in Brazil. After retirement Rich enjoyed staying busy with various mechanical projects and spending time with his family especially doting on his grandson Jack. Rich was devout in his faith and lived his life according to those values. He was kind and caring he lived humbly but always found a way to give to those who needed it. Rich was preceded in death by his parents and several aunts and uncles most recently Aunt Martha and Uncle Donald Bosma his brotherinlaw Jeff Bennett and nephew Justin Goodhart. Earl lived a life shaped by water and patience by quiet mornings and steady lines cast wide. He loved the rhythm of fishing the waiting the hoping and the peace in between. He enjoyed hobbies of playing BINGO eating at the local Chinese Restaurant helping his family running to Speedway every morning for his coffee and meeting with his cherished friends at the Brazil City Garage.
