The world became a little dimmer on May 10 2026 Mothers Day when Dianna Janes left us at 78 years young. A longtime resident of Lake Station Dianna was the kind of person whose presence made life feel softer and more generous. To know her was to feel welcomed understood and cared for. She carried a quiet strength a gentle humor and a heart that gave without hesitation. Dianna spent her career at Bethlehem Steel where she worked with grit and determination as a crane operator and later as a foreman. After retirement from the mill she continued serving her community by driving a school bus for the City of Hobart and Lake Station schools a role she took with pride in as she safely guided generations of children to and from their school days. With heavy hearts and deep love we announce the passing of Cruzita Muniz a beautiful soul whose warmth strength and joyful spirit touched everyone who knew her. Cruzita passed away peacefully on May 10 2026. Born in Caguas Puerto Rico on May 3 1934 Cruzita carried the vibrant spirit of her homeland throughout her life. She later made her home in Indiana where she became known for her kindness elegance and a strong work ethic. She proudly worked as a Bailiff in Hammond Indiana and also served as a crossing guard in East Chicago where she cared deeply for the children and families in her community. Cruzita was a loving mother and aunt who devoted her life to her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Samuel Muniz with whom she shared a beautiful life filled with love laughter and cherished memories. She is survived by her…
