Betty Ellen Drake, 99, of Jasper and formerly of Linton, died peacefully early on the morning of Monday, October 12, 2026, at Serenity Springs at Northwood in Jasper. Her long life was full of faith and family, and she spent it caring for others.Betty was born in Linton on May 6, 1927, to William O. and Ruth E. (Pope) Steele. She grew up there and graduated from Linton-Stockton High School. She then went on to the Indiana University Nursing School. That training started a career she was proud of. As a surgical registered nurse, she worked in hospitals over many years, and her steady hands and calm care helped patients through some of the hardest moments of their lives.Her faith mattered deeply to Betty. She was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Linton and later of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Evansville. At both churches, she and her fellow…

Beulah Faye (Duncan) Stierwalt, 74, of Gosport, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at Redcrest Hospice House in Bloomington, Indiana. She was born on September 15, 1952, in Oneida, Tennessee, to Betty Lou (Duncan) Jones.Beulah retired from the laundry department at United Hospital Services after 23 years of dedicated service. She enjoyed Sudoku and word search puzzles, crafting, and collecting elephants, eagles, and coal oil lamps. She attended the Family of God Church near Spencer.She is survived by her children, Sandra (Mitchell) Lakes of Salem, Missouri, and Brian (Krissy) Stierwalt of Paoli, Indiana; her grandchildren, Jameson (Cassidy) Lakes, Mickaella (Bo) Burkett, Rosemary (Timothy) Shanks, Roy Saucerman, D. Rex Morgan, Chantay Long, and Brycen Long; seven great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Norman Jones and Patsy Morgan.Beulah was preceded in death by her mother; her sister, Reba Ann Duncan; her granddaughter, Sahara Noel Lakes; and her grandson, Rubuen Allen Saucerman.Graveside…
