Darlene Elaine Nicklaus age 88 of Parkersburg Iowa was born the daughter of George J. and Katie DeVries Seehusen on February 2 1938 in Dike Iowa. On June 8 1956 Darlene was united in marriage to Darwin William Nicklaus at the First Congregational Church in Parkersburg. They lived most of their married life on the family farm north of Parkersburg. In June 2011 Darlene and Darwin moved into Parkersburg to her current home. Darlene was a homemaker and worked in area restaurants until she retired in 2011. Darlene was an active member of the First Congregational Church in Parkersburg where she taught Sunday School and Bible School and was a member of the Ladies Guild. She volunteered as a 4H leader and she was known for her wonderful baked goodies especially her coconut cream pie.
