Thelma Franklin Bruce 79 of Lawrenceburg wife of Wendell Bruce passed away Thursday April 2 2026 at Spring Arbor of Frankfort. Born July 1 1946 in Anderson County she was the daughter of the late Johnny Floyd Franklin and Nannie Ethel Gregory Franklin. Thelma retired from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet but her lifes work extended far beyond her career. She was a devoted Christian whose faith guided her daily life and was a member of Sand Spring Baptist Church. She faithfully served in many roles at church including teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School and spent many years using her decorating talents to prepare the sanctuary with beautiful flower arrangements. She found joy in serving others and supporting her church communities. Above all Thelma was devoted to her family. Sissy was born January 5 1961 to the late Cleo Waford and Helen Maxine Ingram Waford. Sissy was a beloved member of Alton Christian Church where she was a greeter for many years. She also was a member of the Alton Ruritan Club and of VETS. Sissy was an avid reader who also loved to travel work puzzles and watching Little House on the Prairie.
