Alpatrick Mapp Burns 77 passed away May 14 2026 at Albert B. Chandler Hospital in Lexington. He was born in Versailles on August 4 1948 to the late Sam E. and May Pauline Mapp Burns. He was a graduate of Woodford County High School and Kentucky State University. Alpatrick loved playing music in his spare time. Survived by his daughters Pauletta M. BurnsGlisson Chet of Lawrenceburg and Evelyn L. Bruce Thony of White Plains MD. Grandchildren Alpatrick Burns III Keyaira Doss Kenneth Jache Rachel and Leah Bruce Great Grandchildren Ava Alpatrick IV and Ajae Burns Keynan and Keyran Ferebee. Sisters Pauletta Mabson of Louisville KY. and Lottie Cornell of Maryland. Along with his parents Alpatrick was preceded in by his son Alpatrick Burns II and a brother Sam Burns Jr. and a sister Kathyrn Burns.

Survived by her two children Deborah Gash Ricky of Salvisa and Bobby Wincheck of Mt. Olivet KY. Grandchildren Angela Herzog and Jenifer Sweet Great Grandchildren Madison and Joseph Herzog Camilla and Duncan Sweet Brothers Ralph Payne Nella of Winchester KY. and Ron Payne Lisa of Paris KY. Along with her parents and husband Janet was preceded in death by her daughter Rebecca L. Sims and a sister Joetta Fryman. A celebration of Janets life will be held at 530 PM Thursday May 21 2026 at Noon Son Funeral Home. A gathering of family and friends will be from 400 PM until time of service.
