Steven was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Heiss Poppas. Steven worked in healthcare as a nurse and a cast technician for many years. He was an avid outdoorsmen who loved camping fishing and spending time at the lake. Steven was an 80s and 90s music enthusiast and loved animals. He was genuine compassionate and adored his family. Surviving is his mother Patricia his nieces Lindsey Poppas and Hanna Poppas Hume Lane of Danville a special niece Jamie Rose of Danville uncle Johnny Poppas of Lexington aunt Susan Roth Walls of Lexington several step brothers and sisters many other nieces and nephews and countless friends. Jo Ann Wimberly 74 of Danville passed away July 29 2026 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. She was born on July 16 1952 in Lexington Kentucky to the late Eddie and Mable Willoughby. Jo Ann loved the outdoors she enjoyed working in her garden tending to her plants and she loved to fish. Jo Ann especially enjoyed traveling to her favorite cabin with her loving fianc David. Most of all she loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
