He was a member of Kings Baptist Church a 1979 graduate of Fern Creek High School a former boyscout a former employee of Stouts Building Center and a United States Army veteran serving during the Cold War and received the Army Achievement Medal. He is survived by his parents Hermes and Glenda Foster a brother Stephen Foster two stepdaughters Gale Mullins and Lisa Brown four grandchildren Tesah Vanover Megan Ridge Hunter and Autumn Byrd a greatgrandson Phoenix a niece Julia McGee Chris one greatniece four greatnephews along with his former wife Donna Coulter. Funeral services will be held 12 p.m. Saturday at the McFarlandTroutmanProffitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Friends may visit after 10 a.m. Saturday. In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to the St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital.

She was a retired executive secretary for the U.S. Federal Reserve Bank Louisville KY a member of Deer Park Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and she also spent time playing piano for the Baxter Avenue Baptist Church. She was an avid bingo player enjoyed horse racing and casinos and was a U of L basketball fan. She was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Edna Briney her siblings Pat Wiley Margie Downs and Fred "Wiggles" Briney Jr. She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years Tom Short a son Tim Wisehart Stacy a daughter Pam Koerber Chris along with 5 grandchildren and 4 greatgrandchildren. In keeping with her wishes cremation was chosen. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

He was a retired school teacher last teaching at the Mt. Washington Middle School a member of Club Fitness in Mt. Washington and an avid University of Kentucky Football fan where he was a season ticket holder for 49 years. He also enjoyed singing dating back to singing with the Golden Tones in high school.
