 Mrs. Henrietta Gilliam “Etta” Carpenter, age 85, of Madison County, passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at her home.Etta, the daughter of the late Ira Jackson Gilliam and Mary Jane Simpson Gilliam, was born in Madison County on January 4, 1941. She loved her family and friends and animals of all kinds. More than anything, she loved to serve Lord and enjoyed visiting with her many friends at local churches.Etta united in marriage to Newt Carpenter. He preceded her in death on November 12, 2025. Spice was the flavor of their life, always sparring back and forth and loving each other until the very end.Survivors include: her brother: Bobby Gilliam and several nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Carpenter was also preceded in death by three brothers: Ira Gilliam, Harold Gilliam and Kenneth Gilliam and five sisters: Laura Lu Gilliam, Elizabeth Short, Lucille Denson, Opal Richardson…

Ms. Patricia Jane Patton, 72, of Richmond, passed away on Friday, August 14, 2026.Jane was born in Richmond, Kentucky on September 15, 1953. She was the daughter of John Patton Jr and Doris Wells Patton, both of whom had preceded her in death. Jane was a graduate of Model Laboratory School and Eastern Kentucky University. She was a retired employee of the U.S. Postal service in Richmond.Survivors include her aunts: Darnetta Wells Congleton and Martha Wells and uncles Dean Wells and Darrell Wells (Wanda) as well as several cousins.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by several aunts and uncles including Daniel Wells, Douglas Wells, Dwight Wells, Donald Wells, Dorothy Bucher, Diana Ross, Darlene Sparks and Margaret Lucille Halcomb.At Jane’s request her funeral service will be private. Harry Cleveland Hoover, 76, passed away in his home on Wednesday, August 19, 2026.Harry was born on October 12, 1949, in Richmond, Kentucky to Mendol and Juanita Riddell Hoover, both of whom preceded him in death. In addition he was also preceded in death by his wife Linda Greene Hoover, his son: Adam Steele Hoover and his siblings: James Michael Hoover and Mendol Russell Hoover.Harry was a member and former pastor of the Knob Lick Baptist Church. He devoted his life to teaching and preaching the salvation of his Lord and Savior, as well as spending time with friends and family who he cherished deeply. He was a graduate of Clear Creek Baptist Bible College and continued his education at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky.
