Aletha Bryant age 78 of Mt. Vernon Ky. departed this life peacefully Thursday August 6 2026 surrounded by family. She was born on March 14 1948 in Harlan Ky. A daughter of the late Henry and Hattie Burdine Parker. Aletha was a member of Bible Baptist Church and a graduate of Livingston High School she was a faithful servant to the Lord. Aletha was a loving caring giving person to all and the best wife mom and mammaw. She found great pleasure in attending her church raising flowers cooking but most of all spending time with her grandchildren. She was creative owning her own floral shop Alethas Florist. On June 17th 1967 she was united in marriage to Billy Wayne Bryant and from that union came a sons David and Scott. Lois Pearl Burdette 92 of Mt. Vernon Kentucky passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday August 11th 2026. She was born on September 24th 1933 in Mt. Vernon Kentucky to the late Homer and Lydia Houk Livesay. Pearl was a member of Northside Baptist Church and she worked at Parker Seal for 41 years. She enjoyed Traveling and spending time with family and friends but nothing compared to spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Those left to celebrate her life are her children Vicki Burdette Michael Burdette Pamela James Burdette Pam Chris Burdette all of Mt. Vernon Ky. Jake was born on September 1 1937 in Jackson Co. to Robert and Mabel Maupin. He was a retired furniture store owner and was of holiness faith. He is survived by one stepson Gary Stephen Blevins and wife Kristine. Two step grandsons Stephen Lamar Blevins and Gabriel Logan Blevins. One step granddaughter Bethany Blevins Matherly. One Baby great granddaughter that he adored Clemontine Matherly. Nephew Shane Maupin. He was preceded in death by four brothers George Gene Danny and Ronnie Maupin. One sister Eva Maye Maupin Lakes. He is survived by two brothers Hurshel Maupin and Rollie Maupin three sisters Geneva Groce Opal Groce and Willa Maye Brockman. Services will be held at Owens Chapel on Tuesday August 11 2026 from 11am2pm with funeral following at 2PM with Pastors John Isaacs Dwight Northern and Gearl Maupin. Albert Floyd Easter age 71 of Lancaster Ky. and formerly of Brodhead departed this life on Tuesday August 11 2026 at Ephraim McDowell Hospital in Danville Ky. He was born on June 14 1955 in Dayton Ohio the son of Emmett Floyd and Alice Hensley Easter. Albert was of the Pentecostal faith and found great joy in playing guitar reading and spending time with his dog. He had been employed at Law Cor Tubing. Those left to celebrate his life are his mother Alice Alexander of Mt. Vernon Ky. Also a host of friends neighbors and cousins. Graveside services Friday August 14 2026 at 1PM at Scaffold Cane Cemetery with Bro. Ralph Reynolds officiating.

Geraldine Cash age 89 of Weeki Wachee Florida entered her eternal home on Sunday August 9 2026. A longtime resident of Brodhead Kentucky Geraldine leaves behind a legacy of faith love and devotion to family. Born February 26 1937 in Brindle Ridge Kentucky she was the daughter of Emma McClure. Geraldine spent her life caring for those she loved as a devoted homemaker and faithful member of Providence Church of Christ. She found beauty in lifes simple pleasures. Whether tending her flowers working in the yard walking outdoors collecting seashells or visiting Pine Island Beach to watch the sunset. Geraldine appreciated Gods creation and the joy it brought her. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren greatgrandchildren and church family. David Collins

David Arnold Collins passed away on August 5 2026 at the age of 70. He was born on November 22 1955 in Lockland Ohio to the late Charles Collins and Verla Smothers. David proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1983 to 1989 as a Marine Corpsman receiving an honorable discharge. After his military service he earned his certification as a Respiratory Therapist. He went on to teach respiratory therapy at Harry Sparks Vocational School before working in area hospitals. He later founded Collins Respiratory Care and fulfilled another dream by opening Brodhead Pharmacy where he continued serving his community. One of his greatest joys was seeing his daughter Amber become a pharmacist and return home to serve alongside him at the pharmacy he built. David was a devoted Christian whose faith guided every aspect of his life. He loved the Lord his family and serving others.…
