Joy Forker, age 93 of Sturgis, KY passed away Friday, February 13, 2026 at Baptist Health Deaconess Madisonville. She was born August 6, 1932 to the late Willie Boyd Gray and Frankie Sowers Kennedy in Wheatcroft, KY. Joy was a member of Grangertown Baptist Church. She retired from Bell South telephone company in 1982 after 23 years and worked as a clerk at Thornsberry Grocery Store. Charles “Tom” Durbin age 87, of Wheatcroft formally of Caseyville, KY passed away at the Lucy Smith King Care Center surround by his family on Saturday February 14, 2026. Tom was born February 26, 1938 in Caseyville, KY to the late Jesse & Clara Debose Durbin. Tom was of the Baptist faith, where he and his wife Luella was a Pastor of several churches in the tri-county area. He was a Veteran serving in the US Army. He met the love of his life Luella Jean Ingersoll in Michigan and a beautiful life began on June 9th, for 59 ½ years, before the passing of Luella in 2015. They raised there two children Jeff & Coleen. Tom was a hard-working man, he was heavy equipment operator, as well a coal miner for Peabody Coal Company.
