Mary Lou Washington Goodwin was born on August 5 1944 in Lafayette LA to Adam Washington and Lillian Comeaux Washington. She was raised alongside five siblings in Westlake where she would grow to raise her own family and serve as a pillar of the community. Mary was born into one of the "founding families" of Westlake a year before the city was incorporated. Over the next eightytwo years she remained there living a life centered on silent servitude and supporting those around her without ever seeking the spotlight. She graduated from Mossville High in 1962 and went on to graduate from McNeese State University with a Bachelors Degree in Nursing as part of the schools second integrated nursing class. Ova Lee was the third child born to Curley and Alberta Wilrye on July 6 1938 in Westlake Louisiana. She was named after her godmother Ova Williams. From the beginning Ova was a beautiful blessing from God and at an early age she was dedicated to Him. Ova was educated in the Calcasieu Parish area attending Westlake Elementary Washington High School and Mossville High School. After completing her education she pursued her dreams and spent several years in Los Angeles California. Her life was further blessed when she met and married Donnie Edward Jackson. She lovingly helped raise Traci Hall Shamell Bell Cheyenne Jackson and Shannon Jackson playing a meaningful role in their lives and cherishing each of them dearly.
