Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday , October 15, 2026 in Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand for Dana Irene Fontenot, 91, who passed away on October 11, 2026.Reverend Gary Funderburk will conduct the funeral services.The burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.Mrs. Fontenot, a resident of Lafayette, was the daughter of the late Elmo Mitchell and the former Artie Bardin.Born on Valentines Day 1935 in McCamey, Texas. Moving later to Crowley, Louisiana. She graduated from Crowley Highschool then attended SLI, Lafayette. Dana married Gus B. Fontenot, Jr., in 1955 and together they had 6 children. She began teaching Head Start in 1966 in Lafayette Parish to include Elementary schools in Scott, Judice, Duson, JW Faulk, and J Wallace James.
