Ryan Henry Raney passed away on Wednesday April 1 2026. He was 79 years old. He was born in Los Angeles California on January 17 1947 to James and Beverly Raney. He loved hunting fishing and watching dirt track racing. He enjoyed doing anything that was outdoors. He is preceded in death by his wife Lottie Raney parents James and Beverly Raney siblings Jimmy Raney Sammy Raney and Mary Stephens. Richard was born in Cleveland Miss. on Feb. 9 1937. He graduated from Cleveland High School and as a student was a member of the Bolivar County 4H Club. From 1953 through 1956 his Jersey cow Daisy earned top honors as Grand Champion at the Delta Livestock Show an early reflection of his strong work ethic and dedication. After graduating high school Richard attended Delta State College and graduated in 1960 with a B.A. in accounting. He also served his country in the Army Reserve. Shortly after graduating from college Richard moved to Vicksburg after accepting a position with the Internal Revenue Service as an IRS agent. During his tenure he was known for being tough but fair and reasonable. When he resigned in 1968 to accept the position of comptroller for F.L. Cappaert he received a personal letter from R.H.
