He was preceded in death by the love of his life Elizabeth and his parents Alton and IreneHester his sisters Helen Jones Tankersly and Diane Jacobs Comeaux. He will be greatly missed by his daughter Transica his brother Gary Sandy and hissisters Beverly Laird Ronnie and Tina Abney Dean. He also leaves behind 13 nieces andnephews and 26 greatnieces and greatnephews all of whom will cherish his memory andthe love he shared with them. Allen was a proud graduate of Warren Central High School. Later in life he returned toschool and earned his bachelors degree in education from the University of Louisiana atMonroe. She is preceded in death by her parents Beroy Moore and Willie Mae Robbins Moore and her husband Gerald Monk. Carolyn Marie Skinner died peacefully in the evening hours of August 8 2026 at Vicksburg Convalescent Center. She was 72. She was an upright and honest woman of quiet kindly and thoughtful disposition. She particularly enjoyed her family friends church and work. Ms. Skinner was born in Cleveland MS in 1954 the oldest of three children of Shirley Ann Skinner and William Herman Skinner. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She graduated from South Vicksburg High School. She received her associate degree from Hinds Community College the bachelors degree in premed from Millsaps a double masters degree in biology and combined sciences from University of Mississippi and the Bachelor of science degree in physical therapy from University of Mississippi. Charlene was raised by Gladys and Lafayette Monroe L.M. Jones following her mothers passing when she was ten years old. She was married to Roy G. Goodwin for 56 years. Together they shared a lifetime of adventure living across the United States and in Panama during Roys career in the Navy. Upon his retirement they returned to their roots in Vicksburg.
