Oliver "Sonny" Miles passed away on September 29, 2026, at age 93. He was born on January 8, 1933, in McCrea, Louisiana, to the late Cleveland and Lucinda Parker Miles. He was a devoted member of Little Zion Baptist Church in Kenner, Louisiana. After 39 years of dedicated service, Sonny retired from Saia LTL Freight. He enjoyed sports and rarely missed a day of watching ESPN. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Matthews Miles; his parents; his daughters, Debra Miles Davis and Brenda Matthews Whitley (Lindsay) of Ethal, Louisiana; and his sister, Rosie Lee Terrell (Joe). He leaves to cherish his memories to his daughters, Joycelyn Landry (Izel), Melanie Miles, and Sandra Whins (Keith); his sister, Victoria Smith; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many other relatives and friends.
