Viley Lapeyrouse Picou, 98, born March 16, 1928, a native and resident of Chauvin, Louisiana passed away on October 9, 2026.A visitation will be held in her honor on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Chauvin, Louisiana from 9:00 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. The burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chauvin, Louisiana.She is survived by her grandsons, Troy Picou (and wife, Jill) and Mark Picou; great-grandchildren, Sidney Picou and Tory Picou; and great-great-grandchildren, Ashton Picou and Harper Picou.She was preceded in death by her husband, James Picou; sons, Lanny Picou and Errol Picou; father, Arthur Lapeyrouse; mother, Modest Cunningham; brothers, Lavis, Alvin, Joseph, Waldren, Walter Lapeyrouse; and sisters, Cornelia Dupre, and Adeline Soudelier.Viley was once an active member of her community serving in St. Joseph Alter Society, Catholic Daughters, KC Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, Ward 7 Club, and…

Mary L. Bourg, 81, of Montegut, passed away on October 11, 2026. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church - Montegut from 10:00 am until the Mass of Christian Burial starting at 11:00am. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. She is survived by her husband, Wilman Joseph Bourg; three daughters, Jeannine (Jimmy), Melissa (Red), Nicole (Mark); grandchildren, Janie Thomas, Justin Thomas, Thomas Henderson, Chase Henderson, Chelsea Adams, Shanell Bardwell, Sabrina Trosclair, Wendy Welch, and 13 great-grandchildren; siblings Mary Lee Ellender, Elray Dupre Sr., Randy Dupre and Cleveland Dupre Jr. She was preceded in death by her son, Rodney Bourg; parents, Cleveland Dupre Sr and Regina Dupre; siblings, Jan Dupre, Melva Jane Naquin, Vallie Boudreaux, and Derral Dupre Sr, and son in law, Gene Corteaux Jr. Mary was a beloved mother, wife and grandmother.
