Cumberland, MD – Gail Ann Gaughan, 72, of Cumberland, MD, passed away, Wednesday, May 13, 2026.Born June 16, 1953, in Altoona, PA, Mrs. Gaughan was the daughter of the late Charles “Buss” Sunderland and Phyllis (McCullough) Sunderland.Gail was a Graduate of Bellwood-Antis High School. She retired as an RN from Thomas B. Finan Center with 21 years of service, priorly working at Memorial Hospital and Frostburg Hospital. Gail volunteered at Our Lady of the Mountains Parish helping with dinners and was a member of Martha’s Group and Sanctuary Society. She was also preceded in death by her husbands: Raymond A. Mowery and Kenneth D. Whisner; and her brothers: Jerry and John Kalbaugh, and Jimmy Flanagan.A homemaker, Judy was a graduate of Allegany High School Class of 1964 and also Catherman’s Business School. He was also preceded in death by his wife: Janet E. Glass on February 27, 2026; his grandsons: Brandon Haney and Chad Albright; and his three brothers. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.A U.S. Army Veteran, Elwood retired from the Maryland State Police as a communications officer.
