Springfield, WV-Ronald Gene Lloyd, Sr., 85, of Springfield, passed away peacefully at home on July 1, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.Born February 12, 1941, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late N.F. Lloyd and Ethel V. (Lambert) Lloyd.He was also preceded in death by his beloved granddaughter, Carissa J. Bolstad; brother, David L. Lloyd; and sister, Sandra K. Sines.Mr. Lloyd was a graduate of Ridgeley High School, Class of 1960.Ronald had worked at Montgomery Ward, Kelly Springfield Tire Company, Mill Room, and Dan’s Run Used Sales. He had worked under Sheriff Marshall Nield at the Mineral County Detention Center (Mineral County Jail). He then worked at the Eastern Regional Correctional Facility in Martinsburg. His last place of employment was the Potomac Highlands Regional Jail, where he retired as a First Sergeant.Ron had belonged to Mt. Olive United Methodist Church.
