Demetra C. Flaskis Hixson age 86 of Middleborough formerly of Bridgewater died peacefully after a short illness on Friday May 15 2026 at the South Shore Hospital in South Weymouth. Born in Somerville she was the daughter of the late Comninos Cleo Spanos Flaskis. Demetra grew up in Brookline and attended public schools there. She married raised her family in Bridgewater and then moved to Middleborough where she resided for over 30 years. Demetra worked diligently as a bookkeeper for various businesses handling accounting and bookkeeping throughout her life before retiring after many years. She enjoyed gardening loved Chinese food and shopping especially for bargains Demetra was a devoted QVC customer who adored watching and shopping on the QVC channel. Myron E. Trop age 91 of Middleborough formerly of Halifax died on Thursday May 7 2026 at Oakhill Healthcare in Middleborough. Born in Brockton he was the son of the late Raymond Elna Braddock Trop. Myron grew up and attended public schools in Halifax. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served for two years during the Korean War. After the war Myron married his childhood sweetheart Stella Wilmot and they remained married for 56 years. For many years he was an accomplished carpenter who built his Halifax home starting from a kit. Myron was fascinated with building boxes of various sizes as well as fishing nets. He liked driving his ATV he built and attached a side box to the ATV for his faithful companion. Myron was happiest just sitting and watching the wildlife especially the birds and squirrels.
