He was born on March 18 1950 to parents William and Frances Malpass Grauel. Allan graduated from East Jordan High School in 1968 prior to attending college at Michigan State University where he earned his bachelors degree in education. After serving two years in the Detroit Public School system Allan left Michigan and moved to San Diego to join his uncle Glenn Malpass who introduced him to commercial fishing. Soon Allan made his way to Kodiak Alaska where he would join thousands of young men eager to work in the booming Alaskan king crab industry. Although crab fishing was extremely dangerous it was also lucrative and within a decade Allan bought his own boat which he maintained until his retirement and subsequent return to East Jordan. Justin was born on April 18 1992 in Livonia Michigan but spent most of his adolescence growing up in beautiful northern Michigan. He was an energetic child with an infectious personality and enjoyed making others laugh. As a kid he loved to hang with his family and close friends playing Pokmon golfing and all things Detroit Sports.
