Robert was born on September 6 1945 to Charles and Susan Kiogima Shagonaby in his childhood home located only a stones throw away from the house where he would spend the later years of his life. He attended Harbor Springs High School later moving on to attend culinary school in Chicago. He married Joyce Hungerford on August 17 1991 in the Holy Childhood Church with whom he would blend and build a family as well as support their mutual passion for community. Robert was never a man to sit idle working from his midtwenties to fifties at the Wequetonsing Golf Club. Following an unfortunate injury at work he soon made a full recovery and moved on to keeping the grounds at the Odawa Casino in Petoskey Michigan where he was known to work circles around all the other men on staff. Dick was born in Bay Shore MI January 15th 1939 to Clair and Hildred Gregory. He was raised on their family farm in Harbor Springs. He attended Harbor Springs Schools where he met Rosemary Saddison and the two were married October 24th 1959. After spending their first winter in Charlevoix they bought their farm in Good Hart in the spring of 1960. There they farmed and raised their two daughters Faith and Dixie. Dicks first love was his farm. He often had jobs off the farm driving trucks driving horses on Harbor Point and working in the woods with his father Clair. He continued to work in the woods most of his life but his real love was his farm. He raised beef cattle pigs and always had draft horses. Harriet Penny Huber died peacefully in her home in Alanson Michigan on March 26 2026 having celebrated her 97th birthday earlier in the month. Penny was born Harriet Alice Abbott in New York City on March 4 1929. She was known during her lifetime as Penny a nickname from early childhood. Her parents were John Maunder Kleeburg Abbott and Harriet Scribner Abbott. Penny was predeceased by her husband Walter Pat Goss Huber who died in 2011. They enjoyed more than sixty years of happy marriage and raised two sons Walter Goss Huber Jr. died 2011 and John Whitney Huber. Pat and Penny purchased property in Alanson in early 1960s on which they built a vacation cottage that the family enjoyed for many years. Gail MaiersClarke passed away peacefully at home on the evening of March 24 2026 with her favorite kitty fresh flowers and her loving husband by her side. Her struggles with congestive heart failure and kidney failure came to an end as she crossed that boundary at 600 PM. Born Gail Frances Tobias on 111942 in Bay City Michigan to Francis Lorraine Tobias and Hazel Elizibeth Gordon Tobias of Akron Michigan. Gail grew up in a closeknit farming community among family neighbors and friends as an only child. She was adored by her community for her bright spirit and especially her beautiful soprano voice. Those attributes and her lifelong faith in God took her through lifes ups and downs. And along the way she made memories and friends of those that shared her journey. Diane enjoyed gardening but her real passion was antique jewelry which led to her owning and operating Elliott Elliott Art Antiques gallery in Harbor Springs for over 40 years. Diane is survived by her loving husband of 63 years Richard her daughter Tammy Davidson her son Brian Elliott three wonderful grandchildren Elliott Davidson Samantha Davidson and James Davidson and her newly arrived greatgrandson Mason Davidson. Donations in lieu of flowers can be sent to the Bissell Pet Foundation 2345 Walker Ave NW Grand Rapids MI 49544. A private family and friends remembrance will be held this summer at the Paradise Lake home which she so loved and cared for.
