John Evan Medler, 82, of Grayling passed away peacefully on October 9, 2026.John was born on January 20, 1944 to Ernest and Evelyn Medler in Lansing, Michigan. He grew up in Lansing and graduated from Lansing Eastern High school, Lansing Community College and Michigan State University. He taught at Mason High School, Camp LaVictoire and Shawono Center. John also served as a Grayling Township trustee for several years. He was an avid hunter, sportsman, coach, teacher, father and grandfather. Dad was always good for an inappropriate one liner and a good practical joke.He was preceded in death by both parents, son Jared Medler and sister-in-law JoAnn Medler. He is survived by his brother, Gerald Medler, wife Susan Medler, son Jason (Jamie) Medler and grandsons Evan and William, daughter Sarah Medler, and many other family members.Per John’s wishes, cremation has taken place and his family will remember him privately during this time.Memorial…
