Geraldine Dame, age 94, of Alma, passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Colonial Villa of Midland. She was born January 30, 1932, in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of John and Helen Michalek. She married Louis A. Dame on February 15th, 1957.Geraldine started work as a switchboard operator for Bell Telephone, and later was promoted to an executive secretary. She raised her family, and then later retired as a Teacher Assistant working with elementary students in Alma. She enjoyed cross-stitching, cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren.Geraldine was an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alma where she served as a member of the Altar Society. Arnold James Walling

Arnold James Walling, age 99, of Alma passed away surrounded by family on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at Arbor Grove Assisted Living. He was born December 5, 1926, in Arkansas City, Kansas the son of Reginold and Eula (Stoops) Walling. Arnold married Chrystelle Fennell in 1947, a blessed union until her passing in 1992. He later married Edna “Mandy” Gallagher Fulton in 1993.Arnold proudly served his country in the United States Army as a paratrooper in WWII, stationed in Japan for 8 months. He retired from Total Petroleum in Alma in 1989, after 34 years of service.Arnold was a faithful and active member of the Bellows-Brown Church of Christ in Mt. Pleasant. He was a longtime volunteer with the Community Café and the Hospital Auxiliary in Alma.He was an excellent cook and baker. His pecan pie, bread, chex-mix, candies, and cookies will be missed.
