After graduating from Flint Northern High School Beth attended Flint Junior College where she met the love of her life Robert Bob Patterson. She grew up in Flint and Davison Michigan and graduated from Davison High School in 1950. She then enrolled at Michigan State University in East Lansing majoring in journalism. While there she met her future husband Douglas Stuart and developed other lifelong friendships establishing a pattern of fostering deep friendships and holding them dearly. LAKE LINDEN U.S. Army Sgt. Robert James Goldsworthy age 22 Lake Linden Michigan native was listed as missing in action World War II since Dec. 17 1944. His remains were identified on Sept. 8 2025 from the Lorraine American Cemetery in SaintAvold France. He will be laid to rest at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Lake Linden Michigan at 1100 A.M. on Saturday August 15 2026. The American Legion Post 90 will conduct Military Rites. Representatives from the US Army will escort the remains of Sgt. Goldsworthy to the Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden.
