Born on April 27 1940 in Grand Rapids Michigan Chuck graduated from South High School in 1958 earned his bachelors degree from Central Michigan University in 1963 and later received a masters degree from Michigan State University. Chuck devoted 33 years to education as a teacher at East Grand Rapids Middle School where he positively impacted the lives of countless students. Ray Thomas Whaley age 89 passed away on August 13 2026. Born in Cadillac Michigan Ray spent most of his life in the Grand Rapids area with Ada being his longtime home. Ray proudly served in the U.S. Army with the National Security Agency. Following his military service he attended Ferris State University where he earned his degree in pharmacy. He went on to own and operate Fulton Pharmacy on the west side of Grand Rapids for more than 25 years. During those years Ray was an active and respected member of the Grand Rapids business community and formed lasting friendships with many people he served. Family and community were at the heart of Rays life. He was an active member of Ada Congregational Church and devoted many years to the Boy Scouts. He was especially proud to see all three of his sons achieve the rank of Eagle Scout.…
