He was born on July 1 1956 the oldest of three sons born to Philip and Bonnie Crossman Kalte. Brian graduated from Ida High School with the Class of 1974 and later continued his education at Monroe County Community College. On August 27 1984 Brian married the love of his life Kimberly Iler. Together they built a beautiful life and raised their daughter Constance. Brian worked for the United States Postal Service for many years before retiring in 2018. From a very young age Brian had an undeniable love and natural talent for music. Although he never learned to read music he taught himself to play several instruments and his musical talent seemed to know no limits. Barbara Joyce Friar age 87 of Monroe passed away peacefully on Thursday August 13 2026 at the Wellspring Lutheran Home with family by her side. Born March 4 1939 in Monroe. Barbara was one of three children of the late Leslie and Gertrude Henrich McLachlin. She graduated from Monroe High School. Barbara first worked for AAA. She then went to work at Howard Ternes packaging company in Monroe. Barbara was an assembler for about ten years before transferring to Delta for another six years before retiring. Before all else she was a loving homemaker to her three sons growing up. Barbara was a longtime member at Zion Lutheran Church of Monroe. In her free time you could find her socializing with her neighborhood friends. Barbara also enjoyed knitting crossword puzzles painting and making crafts. Most importantly she cherished her family.
