Richard R. Peterson, 98, Park Rapids, MN passed away Monday, June 29, 2026 at CHI ST. Joseph's Health in Park Rapids, MN.Richard was born February 5, 1928 in Duluth, MN to David and Ruth (Bjoring) Peterson. He graduated from high school in Duluth then served in the US Army in a career spanning over 20 years, 2 wars (WW2 and Korean), serving as a Green Beret and finally as Sergeant First Class. When Richard was stationed in Panama, he had a buddy whose girlfriend visited from Texas, and along with her she brought a friend. Kathryn Huff. Richard and Kathryn fell in love. Kathryn returned to Texas, quit her job and moved to Panama to marry Richard—all in three weeks! They married on June 1, 1956 in Coco Solito, Panama. Barbara Ann Goss, 83, Laporte, MN passed away on Sunday June 28, 2026 at her home surrounded by her loving family.Funeral services will be held at St Charles Catholic Church, Cass Lake, MN on Friday July 10 at 1130 am with visitation one hour prior. Burial to follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Cass Lake, MN. A luncheon will be served at the St Charles Catholic Church hall after the burial.Barbara was born in St Paul, MN on April 30, 1943 to Charles and Venona (Fisher) Reimer. Along with her five siblings, she was raised in Cass Lake. Barbara was united in marriage to Charles Goss on August 22, 1959 in Cass Lake. They welcomed five children, seven grandchildren and, ultimately, six great granddaughters.After living in the trailer house behind Whispering Pines Motel, Barb and Charlie dragged the five kids and Midnight the dog to Gossville in the spring of 1971.…
