Elizabeth Betty Johnson 84 of Argyle Minnesota passed away on August 12 2026 at Sanford Thief River Falls Medical Center surrounded by her family. Betty was born November 2 1941 in the Argyle area to Carlton Swede and Lorraine Bedard Bergeron. The oldest of five children she graduated from Argyle High School in 1959. On January 16 1960 she married Lindley Johnson. Together they built a life in Argyle and raised four children Laurie Lisa Lynn and Lance. Betty was usually up before five in the morning with something already baking in the oven. The coffee was always on the neighbor ladies stopped in to visit and children and grandchildren gathered in her kitchen. There was always something delicious waiting for whoever walked through the door and something to send home with them when they left. In the summers she brought meals to the guys at the airport. Cheryl Donarski 67 of Grand Forks ND formerly of Pacheco CA passed away on August 5 2026 in her home. Cheryl Rae was born on May 18 1959 in Warren MN to Nick Donarski Jr. and Beverly Marshall. The third of eight children Cheryl was a true caregiver always caring for those around her especially her younger siblings. At sixteen years old Cheryl married David Penn and the two soon moved to California where they built a life and raised their family. Together they had three children and established David Penn Precision Dies DPPD a steel die manufacturing business in Pacheco. Cheryl helped manage the business for many years while raising her family. Though California became home for much of her life Cheryl never lost her connection to Minnesota or to the family she left behind. Duane Flaten 77 formerly of Warren Minnesota passed away on Friday May 22 2026 at his home in Seattle Washington. Duane Richard Flaten was born on October 12 1948 in Warren Minnesota the son of Andrew and Elda Peterson Flaten. He was raised on the family farm and graduated from Warren High School with the Class of 1966. He went on to the University of North Dakota to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. Immediately following graduation from UND he was drafted into the US Army where he completed basic training at Fort Lewis Washington then went on to serve at the Oakland Army Base in California and at the Sukiran Army Base in Okinawa Japan. Following his honorable discharge in 1972 Duane relocated to Tempe Arizona where he attained a masters degree in civil engineering from Arizona State University. He also holds a masters degree in…
