Charles L. Letchworth, 81, of Hattiesburg, passed away Thursday, April 2, 2026 at Forrest General Hospital. Visitation will be Monday, April 6, 2026 from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. at Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg with services immediately following at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in McLaurin Cemetery.Mr. Letchworth was a member of Clear Branch Baptist Church. He proudly served in the Mississippi Army National Guard and later worked as a Deputy with the Forrest County Sheriff’s Department for over 25 years before retiring in 2023. He also spent time working as a truck driver for Oakley Trucking.In his earlier years, he enjoyed hunting and gardening. However, his greatest joy in life was loving and caring for his wife, Margaret, who was the center of his world.He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Marie Letchworth and one brother, Maxie Ray Letchworth.He is survived by his wife of 47…

Betty Joyce Slade Barrett, 79, of Purvis passed away on April 3, 2026 at Lamar Health and Rehab. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 6, 2026 at Pine Grove Baptist Church from 11:30 A.M. until service time at 2:30 P.M. followed by burial in Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.Mrs. Barrett was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. She was a devoted Christian, Wife, and Mother. She enjoyed travelling, especially going to the Smokey Mountains.She was preceded in death by her parents, Toxie and Joyce Slade; and her husband, L.B. Barrett.She is survived by her son, Lonnie Barrett of Purvis; her daughter, Tammy Taylor (Ron) of Orange Beach, AL; her grandson, Blake Dubose of Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.
