Robert Frank Szczys, 79, passed away on October 12, 2026, at Arrowhead Senior Living in Osage Beach, Missouri. Bob was born in 1947 in Bottineau, North Dakota, to Frank and Ione (Lonsbrough) Szczys. He married Elizabeth Jones in 1972, and she survives him.Bob graduated from Bottineau High School in 1965 and attended the North Dakota School of Forestry, where he earned his associate degree. He continued his education at the University of North Dakota, earning both a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Science degree. He then earned his medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School in 1972, followed by an internship and surgical residency at Hennepin County Medical Center.Bob practiced medicine in Rugby and Grand Forks, North Dakota, from 1978 to 2000.
