Janice Katherine Baxter 68 of Independence Missouri passed away on October 9 2026 at Research Hospital. A Celebration of Life will be held at 300 p.m. on October 16 2026 at Royer Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 200 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Oak Grove Missouri. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Childrens Miracle Network. Janice was born on November 22 1957 in Kansas City Missouri to Frank and Irene Baxter. She grew up in Blue Springs Missouri where she attended school and later attended business college in Jackson County. Janice devoted more than 35 years of her working life to 7Eleven serving at various locations before retiring. She later worked at Centerpoint Hospital until her second retirement in 2025. Services will be held on Friday October 16 at Heart of God Church in Buckner MO with visitation from 10001100 a.m. and funeral at 1100 a.m. followed by burial in Mt. Washington Cemetery in Independence MO. Contributions may be made to the Humane Society. Jewell was born June 21 1946 in Kansas City MO to Ora Juanita Jewell Travis and Harold Eugene Woosley Sr. She enjoyed listening to music dancing and playing the piano. She also enjoyed riding motorcycles spending time with family friends and had a passion for animals.
